Re-Format designed a large contemporary extension to an impressive country house set within the South Downs National Park. The original mid-16th century farmhouse has been substantially extended over the centuries. The design of the built scheme with its colonnaded and framed structure reinterprets the construction of the original house and opens up the property to its extensive landscaped grounds. The brief included creating a large new family kitchen room, a snug, boot & utility room and a gym with changing facilities.

The minimal colonnade was meticulously designed to permit the low level winter sun to stream deep into the building whilst shading the windows during the summer months.

“We are thrilled with the service we received from Re-Format. They produced exciting and beautiful designs, interpreting our requirements with accuracy. Designs were presented using 3D technology to help us visualise clearly. They provided an extremely professional, efficient and stress-free service and were as enthusiastic about our project as we were. We would thoroughly recommend them. We will most certainly be using them again on future projects.”
