Frenchman’s Lane

Petersfield

At the commencement of the project Re-Format carried out a detailed analysis of the site, carefully researching the context, architecture and character of the local area to ensure a sensitive design which is in keeping with Petersfield and respects its immediate surroundings. The site had previously been occupied by a large flat-roofed industrial building covering most of the site. The design team have developed a scheme that sympathetically responds to its context. The architectural style is contemporary, but uses traditional materials. The amenity of the adjoining properties was crucial to the positioning and size of the proposal. To this end the fenestration and balconies have been carefully positioned to avoid over-looking and loss of privacy.

The proposal is for a total of 66 age restricted apartments, all residents have full access to the extensive landscaped grounds and the terrace area with its external furniture. Each apartment benefits from either a private patio, generous full height windows, or balcony amenity space.

“I’ve worked with the team at Re-Format on a number of projects and I’ve found them to be talented designers that design great schemes tailored to the specifics of each site”.
