Coors Brewery

Taylor Wimpey commission Re-Format to produce a series of detailed masterplan options for the Coors Brewery site in Alton Hampshire. The brief required the inclusion of accommodation for the local authority (including community facilities and commercial offices), a mix of residential properties with various tenures, a hotel and the retention of listed buildings.

The historic town centre site had a number of challenging constraints including, total site remediation, an existing complex drainage system and a waterway with potentially major flooding issues. The design team liaised with the local planning authority to develop schemes that achieved their aspirations whilst providing a large regeneration development that was fully integrated and complimentary to the historic market town of Alton. Re-Format worked closely with Taylor Wimpey to integrate their standard house types into a carefully crafted contextual design.
