The extension to the main house kitchen comprises a glazed link adjacent to the existing brickwork, an expressive timber frame and flint work exterior. The expansive glazing provides wrap around views to the mature gardens and countryside beyond. The timber frame forms a colonnade rhythm which is reflected inside in the new arched openings to the existing kitchen. In the grounds a new outdoor kitchen is proposed on the footprint of an existing and dilapidated greenhouse. The timber frame language created by the garden room design is repeated here, bringing order and clarity to the garden.
