Care Village Care Village Sussex Re-Format produced designs for a landscape-led care village in Sussex. The dense vegetation surrounding the site, as well as the density of the existing housing development nearby was a key driver during the conception stage of the proposed scheme. A proposed green corridor passes through the middle of the site, dedicated solely to pedestrians. Low density, modern bungalows are scattered either side of this – these are all subtly angled to suit the organic nature of the overall plan. The green corridor terminates in a large open courtyard space, which is surrounded by a U-shaped residential block. The wings of the block have been subtly cranked to echo the conceptual approach applied to the bungalows.
