The Wey Bridge

Re-Format was instrumental in putting together this complex mix-used scheme on a very restricted urban location. From the outset it appeared that the contradictory requirements of a lively night time venue and residential accommodation could not be contained within the constraints of the tight sloping site.

However, a new welcoming approach to the residential accommodation was created by inserting a new entrance podium over the rear commercial basement. Special construction techniques were implemented to acoustically isolate the potentially noisy entertainment venue from the noise sensitive dwellings.

“The scheme was challenging as it was built into the side of a hill and the design was paramount with the site being situated in the middle of a conservation area. Re-Format were proactive in finding design solutions to any problems as they arose to produce a building that both Drum and Alton can be very proud of. It was a pleasure to work with the Re-Format team and I have no hesitation in recommending them to other clients.”
