Stuart joined the Re-Format team in 2025, bringing over a decade of experience in leading complex architectural projects across a range of sectors. He studied Architecture at the University of Portsmouth before completing a Master of Architecture degree at the University of Edinburgh. Qualifying as an architect in Scotland in 2014, he went on to work on significant education, residential, hospitality, and arts projects across Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Since relocating south in 2019, Stuart has led project teams through all RIBA work stages on schemes ranging from student living and cultural buildings to commercial, interior, and masterplanning projects. He enjoys the creativity and momentum of early design stages but always keeps user experience central to his thinking throughout.
Stuart is particularly energised by technically complex projects that demand close collaboration across disciplines — believing this to be the best route to architecture that is both beautifully refined and deeply responsive to its context.
Outside the studio, Stuart enjoys life with his young family and embracing hands-on design and restoration projects at home. He’s often found exploring the countryside and coastline — either on two wheels or under sail.
