As part of the Somerstown Regeneration commission, Re-Format developed the design of the dramatic new community building that spans the 4 lane Winston Churchill Avenue dual carriageway.
The building, which is part of the first phase of the Somerstown regeneration project, includes a community centre, health centre, youth centre and area housing office to replace the ageing facilities in Somerstown. This project will lead to over 500 new homes being built to regenerate the area.
“Portsmouth City Council worked with Re-Format on the Somerstown Regeneration Project. Re-Format’s role was to produce indicative designs and plans for new community facilities and housing. With the community facilities this involved working with four stakeholder groups. Re-Format attended numerous meetings with stakeholders to discuss proposals and make changes with the feedback received. The stakeholders commented about how refreshing the approach adopted by Re-format was. On behalf of Portsmouth City Council I would recommend them doing repeat work for us again in the future.”
